What does Citizenship mean?
Citizenship is the right of an individual to belong to a country. Citizenship may be obtained or granted. The Constitutions of various countries worldwide set out conditions governing the
entitlement to citizenship. In a number of countries such entitlement may include acquisition by birth, parentage or marriage. Laws have also been enacted in numerous countries to allow
persons of long residency to gain citizenship by naturalization or by investment without any residency.

What is Dual Citizenship?
Dual citizenship or dual nationality is the term used to refer to the status in which an individual is a citizen of two or more countries at the same time. Dual citizenship
permits citizens from a number of countries to own a second passport, dual passports or multiple passports or become a naturalized citizen of many other countries.

Citizenship Dominica
Dominica or more commonly referred to as The Commonwealth of Dominica is among the countries that
offer dual citizenship. Chapter VII of the Dominica Constitution details the conditions for the acquisition
or granting of Dominica citizenship. Sections 97 to 100 of the Constitution state the conditions of entitlement mainly birth, parentage and marriage. Section 101 of the Constitution, under the
Naturalization and Citizenship Act, makes provisions for those persons not entitled to citizenship in Sections 97 to 100. The Naturalization and Citizenship Act allows persons who have been residing
uninterruptedly in the Commonwealth of Dominica for a period of five (5) years and who are not citizens to seek naturalization and gain eligible for citizenship upon payment of a stipulated fee. Read more
